4. Place Settings of the Damned
So far it would seem that American football is the most popular choice for a sports-themed wedding in America as this is the third one in a row. Why not just get hitched in a normal style? Why ruin it by linking it around a sport where men just chase an egg shaped ball around a field. Why not just stick to being traditional and getting married in the ways that we always used to?
Would you be happy sitting to eat at a wedding when it has been laid out like above? I think the novelty would wear off for me after a few minutes. Those tables look like they would be pretty good for a game of poker though, so I do hope that somebody brings some cards.
5. Choose Your Dress, Ladies
Wherever there is demand there is always going to be supply! There is now an entire industry behind sports-themed weddings with customized wedding items being made available for purchase. The guy above is obviously involved in that side of things and probably makes quite a nice amount of money out of providing tacky items for tacky sports-themed weddings!
You cannot blame the guy though, he is just giving some people what they want. Whether its a Chicago Bulls wedding dress or a Green Bay Packers one, there are people that will buy them. he is just giving these people a service so that they can go and get married in the stupidest ways possible.
6. No More Rice
I think I have seen it all now! pom-poms being used instead of confetti? A lot of people complained when confetti replaced the original tradition of throwing rice at the newly married couple as they left the church. I guess in our politically correct society these days, the thought of getting sued if a piece of rice you threw hit somebody in the eye was enough to convince people to go for the paper kind.
Pom-poms though? How is that in anyway traditional and more importantly, what is the point? I would just be embarrassed if I attended this wedding, a bit like the guy on the right looks like he is. He does not seem to be getting into things quite as much as everyone else does he?
